There are college scholarships offered just to women, which gives women an advantage in that they can apply to many general scholarships in addition to women scholarships. Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship

Application Deadline February each year

Award Amount $10,000 awards to students in USA and global

This scholarship for women is targeted for female students who will major in computer science or computer engineering with a GPA of 3.5 or better. Some scholarships are designated "First Years" for high school seniors planning to attend college in the fall, and others are for college students. Executive Women International Scholarship Program

Application Deadline March each year

Award Amount $200,000 of college scholarships for women are awarded each year, up to $10,000 for national winners, and up to $4000 for chapter scholarships.

This scholarship for women is open to female high school juniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and business potential, who plan to attend college in the US and pursue a degree in business or professional field of study. 750 word essay required. Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women

Application Deadline August each year

Award Amount Varies, may have 10 scholarships averaging $1500

These college scholarships for women are for women age 25 and older who are attending or planning to attend college. A 500 word essay related to their educational goals is a requirement. For online application see Women Scholarship


College Scholarships Foundation Women’s Scholarship 2012

Application Deadline December each year

Award Amount $500 - $1000 stipend

This scholarship for women is open to full-time graduate and undergraduate students with a 3.0 GPA or better. 300 word college essay about women, family and workforce. USA citizens only. For more detailed scholarship requirements and scholarship application see Womens Scholarships


Miss America Scholarship Pageants

Application Deadline Varies

Scholarship Pageants Award Amount $50,000 for Miss America, $25,000 to first runner-up, plus other pageant awards. At the state level, $1000 scholarship

Outputlinks Woman of Distinction Award

Application Deadline April of each year

Award Amount $5,000

This college scholarship for women is open to college junior, seniors and graduate students who are interested in a career related to document management, graphic communications and similar marketing topics. Talbots Scholarship for Women

Application Deadline January each year

Award Amount $10,000 to $30,000

The Talbots scholarship for women is available for women who graduated from high school or obtained their GED 10 years ago or more (e.g. 2003 or before for 2013 Talbots scholarship applicants), and who are attending a 2, 3 or 4 year college or university in the US or Canada, with one more year to go before they graduate. Girls Going Places Entrepreneurship Awards

Application Deadline February each year

Award Amount $10,000 first place, $5000 second and $3000 third place, and 12 other scholarship finalists receive $1000

Note: this scholarship program is now closed. Starting in 2012 it is no longer offered. It had been open to girls ages 12 – 18 in middle school or high school. Girls were nominated based upon making a difference and showing initiative toward starting a business or financial independence.
